CALMAC'S sailings between Gourock and Dunoon have been cancelled until at least Monday as engineers tend to a linkspan issue.

The ferry operator was forced to suspend the service on Tuesday evening due to the fault at the pier in Dunoon.

A shuttle bus service has since been running connecting to McInroy's Point and Hunters Quay.

Argyll and Bute Council – which oversees the linkspan – said engineers were onsite investigating ‘a technical fault’ and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

CalMac’s shuttle buses will continue to operate as close to the timetable as possible over the next few days, with the last bus leaving Dunoon at 9.50pm and Gourock at 10.20pm.

The operator is expected to provide an update on the sailings at 1pm on Monday.
