AN INVERCLYDE couple have celebrated joint academic success as they graduated from university together.
David and Amy Wingar both secured Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degrees in Health and Social Care from the Open University, despite juggling their studies with IVF treatment, David’s type one diabetes and the Covid-19 pandemic.
They were joined at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall ceremony by their two-year-old son Edwin.
Former nanny Amy, 34, said: “It's been a long hard road to get here.
“David and I are a real team and to be celebrating this day together really is the icing on the cake."
David, who also has dyslexia, has now followed in the footsteps of his gran, who completed a Master of Arts in Religious Studies through the Open University in the 1970s.
The 37-year-old added: “To finally attain a degree qualification is a big personal goal. It has really helped me believe in myself.”
