LODGE Greenock Kilwinning No XII has made another sizeable donation to make life better for needy children.

Right Worshipful Master Bro Brian McFadyen, left, is shown presenting a cheque for £1,000 to Pat Burke, of Children in Poverty Inverclyde (CiPI).

Brian said: “In No XII we are anxious to make a difference in our community. We are very happy to pass this cheque over to help CiPI.”

Thanking the brethren, Pat said: “We are indebted to Lodge No XII for this generous donation.

“The lodge has contributed thousands of pounds to us since our foundation in 2014, which is of great merit with hundreds of local children in families experiencing hard times benefiting greatly.

“Our trustees are grateful for such sustained engagement with us and commend No XII for the implementation of their charitable ethos across the whole community.”

No XII also presented a cheque for £1,000 to Ardgowan Hospice and £200 to Kyla McKinlay. The Telegraph recently told the story of Kyla’s ‘Baldy Walk’ fundraiser for cancer charities as she fights the disease.

The lodge stages a number of activities in its annual fundraising drives, with the most significant being the Charity Burns Supper in the Town Hall.

Instituted in 1728, Lodge Greenock Kilwinning No XII is Inverclyde’s oldest organisation.
