THE Waterfront Leisure Centre’s training pool is on-track to re-open next month following work to replace its moveable floor.
The pool shut in early September to allow contractors to drain the pool before work began on installing the new £400,000 floor.
Inverclyde Leisure drained 725,000 gallons of water from the pool over four days as the major refurbishment programme began.
A new report to Inverclyde Council’s Education and Communities committee has confirmed that the replacement work was finished in mid-October and that the pool has now been re-filled.
A dive survey and final inspection and commissioning has been scheduled for the end of this month by officials.
The pool reported to still be on track to re-open in early November as previously planned.
