DATES have been confirmed for this year's Christmas lights switch-on events throughout Inverclyde.

The council has revealed that Greenock's festive display will be lit up on November 23, with a ceremony taking place in the town's Clyde Square from 5.30pm.

The following day, November 24, will see the lights switched on in Gourock as the button is pressed in Kempock Gardens from 6pm.

Port Glasgow will be illuminated on November 29 after a ceremony at the town's library from 6pm.

Meanwhile, the lights will be switched on in Quarrier's Village, Inverkip, Kilmacolm and Wemyss Bay on the same evening, Friday December 1.

Events will be held at Quarrier's Village Centre from 3.30pm on the day, at Inverkip Hub from 5.30pm, Cargill Centre in Kilmacolm from 6pm and Wemyss Bay Community Centre from 7pm.
