STAFF from a Greenock opticians have set their sights on keeping children safe during the dark nights this winter.
Oak Mall’s Specsavers store have kindly donated 100 hi-vis jackets to children’s groups in Inverclyde to mark Road Safety Awareness Week, which runs from November 19-25.
The jackets were hand delivered to youngsters in the Whinhill Primary nursery class and 5th Greenock & District Scouts.

Claire Kincaid, Specsavers Greenock store director, said: “‘As our evenings begin to get darker much quicker it’s vital that we ensure that everyone is seen and safe, so we were more than happy to support Whinhill Primary Nursery and the 5th Scouts division.
“With nights getting darker, we also urge drivers to be conscious of their eyesight and visit the team if they’ve not had an eye examination in the past two years.”
