INVERCLYDE locals have been advised to take care when travelling today following heavy snowfall in the area overnight.
The Met Office had yesterday issued a 'yellow' weather warning for ice and snow which is still in place until 11am today.
The snowy conditions have transformed many parts of Inverclyde into winter wonderlands, but Met Office forecasters have warned residents to expect delays when making journeys today.
Members of the Tele's camera club have captured icy scenes across the area this morning, with pictures showing the wintry weather's effects on places like Greenock's Murdieston Dam.
ScotRail's journey check service states that disruption is expected until 2pm along the Wemyss Bay to Glasgow and Gourock to Glasgow lines due to heavy snow at Glasgow Central.
This means that services to and from Gourock and Wemyss Bay may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
