YOUNGSTERS dressed down for a perfect pyjama party and raised hundreds of pounds for a Port Glasgow foodbank.

Clune Park Toddlers held the bash at Port Glasgow Town Hall in aid of the local Church Angels cause.

It is a charity close to the heart of event organiser Claire Saunderson, who has used the foodbank.

Mum-of-five Claire said: "I gave mums sponsor sheets the week before and those who had been there came along with a food donation.

"I was so proud of them all, I was overwhelmed by how well we did.

"The foodbank was over the moon.

"I am finding it difficult myself. I am a user of the foodbank and I've gone along at 10.45am and they've run out. It's a not a nice situation to be in.

"It really is a lifeline. There are some weeks when I am really struggling, so it's good to know there is somewhere were you can go to help you get through the week.

"I know they have been struggling for donations. So we decided if we are raising money, we will give half to them.

"We raised £416 altogether and handed over £208 plus food donations.

"The rest of the funds raised will go towards buying crafts and gifts for the kids."

Claire added: "The party was a great success with a great atmosphere.

"All the kids had their PJs on and some of the mums did too."

The group are holding their Christmas Party in Port Glasgow Town Hall on Monday December 18 between 11am and 1pm.
