HOGMANAY is set to be an all-Inverclyde affair this year with a local band joining famous faces on a national broadcaster's New Year's Eve show.

All-female group The Laurettes have confirmed they will be joining STV's set-up to bring in the bells on December 31 in what they have described as a 'bucket list achievement'.

The band, who will sing their version of Auld Lang Syne, said in a social media post: "What a way to end our best year yet, we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store."

The Telegraph previously reported that Greenock-born Line of Duty favourite Martin Compston and Port Glasgow-raised Jean Johansson, star of This Morning and A Place in the Sun, will also take part in the celebrations counting down to the new year.

Taggart legends Alex Norton and Blythe Duff, plus Two Doors Down and Scot Squad actor Grado are also on the bill, while Compston's podcast pal, Gordon Smart, will also take his place on the night along with STV regulars Sean Batty and Laura Boyd.

You can watch Bringing In The Bells on STV and STV Player from 11.15pm on Hogmanay.
