YOUNG people in Inverclyde are being encouraged to enrol in an employability programme which is due to begin in the new year.

Street League’s next cohort will embark on a 12-week personal development course in January.

The programme - which has already helped more than 100 Inverclyde youngsters into work - is open to those aged 16-19 who are not in education, employment or training.

It seeks to help young people gain an SQA award and work experience, as well as building confidence and employability skills.

Participants will receive free sport and fitness sessions and a Nike kit as part of the programme, as well as £65 per week if not in receipt of a benefit.

Those interested are asked to email conor.oneill@streetleague.co.uk.
