A PORT Church ended the year in seasonal style with a Christmas celebration at its Corner Cafe.
Hamilton Bardrainney Church held a festive buffet, with 60 people attending and enjoying entertainment from the Clydeside Singers with a medley of carols and Christmas songs.
The cafe started with a grant from the Inverclyde Council in January and proved such a success that when it was to end in March, church members decided to fund it themselves to keep going.
Now a new grant under the local authority's extended Warm Hand of Friendship scheme means it will be continuing through 2024.
Elder David McLellan said: "We get donations of rolls from The Kafay in Dubbs Road and sliced sausage from the Lawson family."
David says the cafe is open to everyone in the community.
He said: "Around 50 per cent of people who come in are non-church members and we get around fifty people on Mondays.
"We provide soup, toasties, filled rolls, tea, coffee and biscuits and friendship.
"Our Thursday afternoon arts and crafts club has evolved from the cafe."
The Monday cafe will re-open in the New Year.
