AN attack-accused trio are said to have injured a woman with a mop during an alleged assault and robbery in Greenock town centre last weekend.

Jordan McAllister, Kayleigh Wilson and Paula Kelly are charged with assaulting the alleged victim at the latter's flat in Cathcart Street on December 30.

McAllister, 23, allegedly stole £40 in cash from the woman's hand before the two female accomplices pulled her and pinned her to the ground, struck her on the head with a mop pole and kicked her on the head and body all to her injury, court papers state.

Prosecutors claim that on the same date and at the same place, McAllister assaulted a man when he threw a fire extinguisher at him.

It is alleged that the item struck him on the head, to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

It is said that McAllister, who also lives on Cathcart Street, committed the alleged offences while on seven separate bail orders - the most recent of which was made around a fortnight before the latest reported incident.

Kelly, 43, was also subject to bail conditions relating to a separate matter at the time of the alleged assault.

Sheriff Brian Mohan bailed 32-year-old Wilson, of Nevis Road, and remanded McAllister and Kelly after all three appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday January 2.

The case was continued for further examination with no pleas having been submitted and the trio are due to return to court within the next week.
