INVERCLYDE’S MSP has wished the longest serving member of the area’s Women’s Aid service a ‘happy and restful’ retirement in a motion at the Scottish Parliament.
Stuart McMillan congratulated Carol McLaughlin on a ‘remarkable’ 35-year career with the charity, and asked MSPs to recognise her work transforming the lives of numerous women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Carol started volunteering at Inverclyde Women’s Aid in 1988, before taking on a paid role in 1992.
Mr McMillan said she will be ‘sorely missed by her colleagues’ but added that they will ‘carry on her legacy’.
