TEMPORARY traffic lights are to be installed in Bridge of Weir as a work continues to finish a million-pound flood management project.

Scottish Water has been working to alleviate sewer flooding in the area, with the village’s Main Street being closed for around two months in the lead up to Christmas last year.

Main Street will now be reduced to one lane from January 15 until January 19 to tie-in and reinstate the roadway where it meets Mill Brae.

Corporate affairs manager Georgina Reid said: “This is the end of the road as far as traffic management is concerned for this project.

“The project will deliver a significant long-term benefit to the village and the local community, and we would once again like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding.”
