THE weekly demonstrations in Greenock calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is moving from Clyde Square to the Oak Mall from Saturday.
Councillor Tommy McVey hopes the change will encourage more people to come along.
He said: "Whilst it might not feature as prominently on our TV screens, the plight of the Palestinian people in Gaza is more desperate than ever.
"Innocent men women and children continue to be killed on a daily basis.
"Over the last few months, the local demo calling for a permanent ceasefire has become more of a vigil than a protest, given the suffering being endured by the people of Gaza.
"If you have a spare half hour on Saturday, please come along to show your support for a permanent ceasefire to prevent more innocent people being killed, to allow all hostages to be released and to allow much more humanitarian aid into Gaza, which is desperately needed."
People are asked to meet at the Oak Mall entrance opposite Tesco at 2pm.
