RENOWNED singer-songwriter Steve Harley has cancelled his Greenock performance which was due to take place later this year.
The Cockney Rebel frontman was set to take to the stage at the Beacon Arts Centre on October 9.
Harley was forced to cancel a number of shows in November and December last year, citing ‘a medical procedure followed by a period of recuperation’.
On Christmas Eve, he shared an update with fans via his website in which he stated he was ‘fighting a nasty cancer’.
He wrote: “My oncologist is pleased with the treatment’s effects so far.
“It’s tiresome, and tiring but the fight is on.
“And thankfully the cursed intruder is not affecting the voice. I sing and play most evenings.”
A spokesperson for the Beacon said: “We will be in touch with all customers with an existing booking shortly regarding refunds and further details. We thank you for your patience.
“Everyone at the Beacon sends Steve Harley our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
