A CONSULTATION event will be held in Greenock tonight on Inverclyde Council’s plans to encourage and promote British Sign Language (BSL).

Local people are being invited to share their views as the authority develops a new BSL plan for the next six years.

Council leader, Stephen McCabe, said: “I would encourage local BSL users to get involved again - together with other people who have an interest in BSL - by attending the consultation event.

“Development of the new plan 2024/30 is at an early stage. The council is therefore keen to make sure that BSL users are at the centre of the process and make their views known about what should be included during its development.”

The event on January 29 will be held in the Lindsay Wood Room at the Beacon from 6pm-8pm.
