AN INVERKIP man charged with having unlawful possession of a blade in Greenock is set to go on trial before a jury next month.
Ross Shearer is accused of having a knife in a public place without reasonable excuse in February 2021 on Murdieston Street.
It is claimed the 41-year-old committed the alleged offence just weeks after being made subject to a court bail order relating to separate matters.
Shearer, of Main Street in Inverkip, is further charged with failing to appear for a hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court on July 18 last year.
He maintained not guilty pleas through solicitor Aidan Gallagher at the latest calling of matters.
Sheriff James Spy continued the case to trial, scheduled for March 18.
