INVERCLYDE residents have been warned to expect travel disruption as a result of snow and ice later this week.

A yellow weather warning has been issued for the area from 6pm tomorrow until 3pm on Friday.

The Met Office says roads and railways could be affected as temperatures drop.

Drivers are warned that there may be icy patches on untreated roads, with pedestrians and cyclists also being urged to exercise caution on pavements and paths.

Inverclyde is expected to see highs of only three degrees Celsius tomorrow, with conditions improving later in the day on Friday.
