SCOTTISH Opera will bring a new show to Inverclyde this summer as its award-winning primary schools tour returns.

The ‘Vikings! The Quest for the Dragon’s Treasure’ will visit Aileymill Primary on June 18, Moorfoot Primary on June 21 and Whinhill Primary on June 27.

The newly-created show takes pupils on a ‘journey of magic and mystery’.

Greenock Telegraph:

Designed for pupils in P5, P6, and P7, the show can also be enjoyed as a digital-only learning and teaching experience using Scottish Opera’s website.

The online delivery method sees performers appear on screen to sing alongside classes.

Jane Davidson MBE, director of outreach and education at Scottish Opera, said: “We hope that pupils in primary schools across Scotland will delight in this original story, where the Vikings learn that not all treasure consists of gold and jewels, and that living in harmony with the land and the seasons is a lesson they’d be silly to ignore!”
