A GREENOCK man has been charged with spitting on and headbutting police officers following an alleged foul-mouthed disturbance at a rehab unit in the town.
Brian Murphy, 46, is said to have shouted, swore and uttered threats at Jericho House on Bank Street.
As well as the alleged threatening or abusive behaviour offence, prosecutors say that Murphy later attacked two PCs at Greenock police station.
It is claimed by the Crown that he spat on the body of one officer and headbutted the other.
All of the alleged offences are said to have been committed on September 10 last year.
The matters called have been continued without plea at Greenock Sheriff Court until next month.
