AN Inverclyde theatre school owner will feature in a brand new TV show later this year - with parts of the programme being filmed in Greenock.

Reece Donnelly is no stranger to the screen after appearing on popular BBC show The Apprentice alongside Sir Alan Sugar last year.

The 27-year-old runs the Glasgow-based Theatre School of Scotland, which expanded into Inverclyde with the opening of its new Greenock branch last summer.

Since then, the school has been offering tuition in acting and musical theatre for children as young as three.

Greenock Telegraph:

Reece told the Tele: “I will be spending a lot more time in Greenock.

“I’m about to start doing a new TV show. I can’t say too much, other than I’ll be back to Inverclyde to film some of that.

“We’ve got something coming out later in the year.”

The new show won’t be Reece’s first experience of filming in Inverclyde.

The trained actor previously made appearances in Waterloo Road, which filmed its eighth, ninth and tenth seasons at the former Greenock Academy on Madeira Street.

Reece has told the Tele it feels like a ‘full circle’ moment for him to be back in the town running his own school and filming a new series.

He added: “Greenock has always held such a special place for me because it’s the first place I ever got a professional job.

“It’s where I met my business partner at the agency and all of our best friends.

“I feel really at home down here - we all lived in the waterfront flats down at the McDonald's.

“I have always associated it with being a place where I had such fond memories.”
