SENIOR officers from the local Coastguard rescue team welcomed 12 new recruits to their Greenock base last week.
A dozen new Coastguard Rescue Officers who had just completed the first week of an intense three part foundation training course attended last week.
They completed a number of subjects ranging from ‘casualty care’ to ‘helicopter landing sites’.
The group will be back at the base this week for part two of the programme, which will include water rescue training.
