A PROJECT to light up Battery Park after dark is progressing.
The council is installing 35 lamp-posts around the park, after securing money from the UK Government.
The columns are now in place awaiting connection, with work due to be completed by the end of next month.
Municipal Buildings bosses secured funding to enhance the lighting in public parks in a bid to make people feel safer during darker mornings and evenings.
The step was taken after safe walking spaces were highlighted as a concern in a safety survey.
