PLANS have been unveiled for the construction of a new four-bedroom house in Inverkip.

Applicant Alister McKenzie, assisted by agents Rebecchi Architectural, has submitted proposals to Inverclyde Council for the gap site within the grounds of the Bell House, on the village's Langhouse Road.

Foundations of a former agricultural building remain on the site and the Bell House was designed, built and occupied by industrialist Sir Robert McAlpine, whose company constructed the nearby now-demolished Inverkip Power Station.

According to a design statement lodged with the application, the proposed new home is set to include an air source heat pump and a rainwater recycling system.

Planning permission in principle was granted for the site last year.
