THE Girlguiding Greenock Division hosted a major Thinking Day celebration.

Around 500 girls from Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Trefoil Guild and their many leaders and helpers took part in various activities to nark the annual event.

The action-packed day ended with a camp fire at Westburn Parish Church.

Greenock divisional commander Wilma Carroll said: "We had Tommy Trick the magician, giant inflatables, a silent disco, crafts, a photobooth, challenges and a tour of McLean Museum .

"Renfrewshire County Commissioner Sheila Young welcomed everyone then handed over to Gayle Pollock & Millie McKinnon to lead the camp fire.

"Renfrewshire County president Sheila Tait then led all enrolled members in renewal of promise.

"We were delighted that Lord Lieutenant Peter McCarthy and Provost Drew McKenzie were able to attend.

"A special presentation took place when Provost Drew McKenzie presented Sandra McColl with her 50-year service award.

"Wilma Carroll, Greenock Division Commissioner, along with all of Greenock Division, would like to thank Lyle Kirk, Westburn Parish Church, Access At Ardgowan, Greenock & District Scout Radio Club for the use of their premises and everyone who took part and helped to make the day such a success."
