WORK is well under way to restore an iconic Greenock landmark to its former glory.
The B-listed 19th century Customhouse Quay clock tower on the dockside outside the former Customs House is undergoing a major makeover, worth £110,000.
Scaffolding has been erected to allow the workers access to the monument.
Work is being carried out to restore the pedestal, column clock, bell, light and finial and the tower will also receive decorative paint treatments.
It will take up to ten weeks to complete the work.
