LABOUR'S general election candidate for Inverclyde has accused the Tory government of '14 years of failure' following last week's budget.
Martin McCluskey says the measures unveiled by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt do not 'even begin to undo the damage' caused during their reign in Downing Street.
Mr McCluskey said: “After 14 years of failure in government, no-one is buying the Tories’ cynical attempts to convince voters they’re on their side."
The candidate also called for the election poll to be held now, rather than later in the year.
He said: “Labour is ready to deliver the change Scotland needs by making work pay, growing our economy and renewing our public services.
“Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West needs change - we need a general election now.”
