A GREENOCK east end nursery is getting a helping hand to make its garden grow.
Hillend Children's Centre - which has undergone a big refurbishment - is now trying to improve its outdoor space and green fingered experts from Inverclyde Community Food Network have pitched in to help.
Development workers Julie Anson and Alice Paul have been digging deep on the effort and brought special starter kits along with them on a visit.
Youngsters Caoimhe Gallacher and Baylie Gamble were delighted to be the first to try out the packs, planting seeds in the garden.
Julie said: "The packs will get the nursery started with planting.
"It is great to be helping Hillend to get their garden growing in time for spring.
"The children love being outdoors."
Hillend early years education officers John Lindsay and Simone Scoular have been picking up top tips about how to make sure the garden flourishes.
They hope the nursery garden will produce lots of fruit, veg and lots of plants.
John said: "I love learning about gardening. It is a great to get the chance to be involved and get the children involved. They love it."
