YOUNG code crackers from a Greenock school got the chance to discover the true meaning of the Easter story.
Super sleuths from Lady Alice Primary descended on St Margaret's Church in Finch Road on an operation to 'crack the Easter Code' to learn about new life and hope.
Primary 6 pupils took part in a series of activities and watched a play representing the Easter Story, performed by local ministers.
Reverend Jonathan Fleming, of Lyle Kirk, said: "The Easter Code is one of two programmes written about 20 years ago by a chaplaincy team including local ministers Reverend David Burt and Reverend Karen Harbison.
"Since 2006 the Easter Code has been running all over Scotland. We open it up with a quiz about chocolate and then the re-telling of the Easter story with a narrator and actors and then the children go round five stations and each get a letter to crack the code."
Around 300 pupils took part in the church project, including the Lady Alice youngsters.
Ministers from across Inverclyde took part in the project.
Thomas Porteous, elder at St Margaret's, said: "It is vitally important for the church to do community outreach work and to raise awareness. The church is like a family, we need to let the kids know that we are there for them."
