THE trial of a man accused of pushing a woman down the stairs at his home in Port Glasgow has been delayed.
Jamie Naismith, 32, is charged with assaulting the complainer at an address on Pentland Avenue on November 27 last year.
It is alleged he pushed her on the body causing her to fall down the stairs, grabbed her by the hair, pulled her to the ground and placed his knee on her back.

Prosecutors say he also repeatedly struck the woman’s head on the ground and forcibly removed her from the property – all to her injury.
Naismith was due to stand trial at Greenock Sheriff Court last week, but his defence solicitor noted that some evidence – including a 999 call recording – was still to be obtained.
He will return to court for trial on October 7.
