THE long established Inverclyde Carers' Centre has been in the news recently because of doubts cast over its future.

The centre has provided a lifeline for carers by providing a high level of support including promoting the recognition of carers in the community, helping carers access appropriate services, establishing a carers network and promoting the rights of carers in the community.

The organisation has worked hard to provide carers with much need respite in the form of short breaks and enabling them to take opportunities in paid and unpaid activities in, and out with the home.
