FERGUSON ferry MV Glen Sannox is today back out on the River Clyde undertaking further trials.

After earlier sea trials this week she had been at the Dales Marine dry dock in Greenock, but was moved late last night to the Inchgreen/Great Harbour area, due to a forecast of high winds.

Trials are being conducted between the area south of Skelmorlie Bank to the north of Great Cumbrae Island in the Firth of Clyde.

The vessel is expected to berth at Inchgreen this evening, and Ferguson's staff will continue to work on her there over the coming weeks.

A spokesperson for Ferguson Marine said: "The vessel will remain at Inchgreen until completion of further commissioning and outfit activities, which in turn allows for the positioning of Hull 802 at Newark Quay."

While at dry dock, the vessel was cleaned and final surveys of the underwater body were conducted by Lloyds Register and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency.

Ferguson's bosses have warned they expect challenges regarding the completion of the LNG system for the vessel and they will give an update to the board and MSPs week commencing April 15.
