A BID to demolish buildings in Kilmacolm and replace them with flats has been approved.
Members of the planning board have given the go-ahead for a development of 18 one-bedroom apartments at West Glen Road in the village, but detailed designs will still have to be cleared.
A vacant two-storey block of cottage flats, a two-storey workshop and an outbuilding will be levelled to make way for the new flats.
The planning board has laid down a condition limiting the height of the flat buildings to three floors and the developer will also have to agree to 25 per cent of the scheme being affordable housing.
