A MAN who stole more than £100 worth of steaks from Lidl has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Janis Putrasevics appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old stole dozens of steaks to the value of £122.87 from the supermarket on Hopehill Road in North Glasgow on June 30, 2023.
There was no recovery.
He was ordered to carry out 54 hours of unpaid work.
It was revealed that he is currently on a community payback order (CPO) for two other crimes.
These include assaulting a man, demanding money from him, seizing him by the body, and stealing his wallet and £10 cash on June 22, 2022, on Karol Path, Woodside.
Sheriff Jonathan Guy fixed a CPO review for August 8.
He said: “My hope is that I have a positive report. If so, I will allow these orders to continue without you having to come back to court.”
