MORE than 200 people turned up to a special event arranged to celebrate the success of an Inverclyde coastal clear-up.

The Big Clyde Clean Up set up the party and picnic at local beauty spot Lunderston Bay as a thank-you to all those who had taken part over recent weeks.

Organisers Literati Guide to Inverclyde and Green Tangerine were thrilled with how the day turned out.

They would like to thank Inverclyde Community Fund for providing money, the Co-op for donating food and Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park's rangers for running nature walks, plus Bay Ices who kindly supplied free ice-cream, and Inverclyde Shed.

Inverclyde Libraries donated kit for a silent disco, Happy and Wild led swimming sessions, RIG Arts brought their bus to work with youngsters to make pieces from litter they'd salvaged, singer-songwriter Shelagh McKay Jones provided entertainment and divers from Marine Life Rescue were also there on the day doing a demonstration.
