INVERCLYDE'S MSP insists he has full faith in the First Minister after admitting that the collapse of the Scottish Government power sharing coalition came as a surprise to him.

Humza Yousaf will now lead a minority government after he ditched the agreement with the Green Party.

The collapse follows the decision by the Scottish Government to scrap their 2030 targets to reduce greenhouse gases.

Inverclyde MSP Mr McMillan said: "The decision to end the Bute House Agreement came as a surprise but it has been taken, and I recognise how challenging the parliament will be for the remaining two years of the session.

"I have full faith in the FM's decision and he has my full support in helping make this decision work for Greenock and Inverclyde and Scotland."
