A PORT Glasgow man accused of brandishing a machete and violently threatening two women is due to stand trial next month.
Grant Crawford is charged with acting aggressively and carrying the blade at Stanton Square on March 11 last year.
It is claimed that the 31-year-old repeatedly shouted, swore and threatened the women, one of whom is said to be his ex-partner.
Crawford is also charged with having unlawful possession of a weapon in a public place without reasonable excuse.
He appeared from custody to plead not guilty through solicitor Amy Spencer at Greenock Sheriff Court.
A trial has been scheduled for May 13.
