COUNCIL approval is being sought for major upgrade works at James Watt Dock Marina.
Plans to build a new marina building with a retail unit, a food and drink outlet, changing and office facilities were recently unveiled and have now been lodged with the local authority.
The single-storey building would be accessed from Douglas Rae Road using the already established entrance into the marina.
The Telegraph last week revealed ambitious plans to invest more than £850,000 in new facilities at the site.
At the heart of the project is the new building, which will be the entrance for the marina, as well as a base for operations and management offices.
Inverclyde Council planners are currently considering the application.
