A PORT Glasgow man has been charged with assaulting a pre-school aged child during an alleged incident earlier this year.
Christopher Taylor is said to have grabbed the youngster and repeatedly struck them on their body at a property in the town between February 13 and 14.
Taylor, 37, was not present in the dock when his case called at Greenock Sheriff Court but a letter tendering a plea of not guilty was submitted.
A trial has been scheduled for September 4.
