A WOMAN aged 40 is facing a trial this week accused of assaulting a schoolgirl on board an Inverclyde train more than four years ago.

Dionne Dawson is charged with repeatedly pushing and pulling the 15-year-old alleged victim and seizing her by the hair while on a train travelling between Port Glasgow and Whinhill stations.

Dawson is said to have acted in an aggressive and intimidating manner, shouted and swore during the March 2020 incident on board the train while subject to bail conditions imposed the previous day.

During a calling of the case at Greenock Sheriff Court last week a trial was scheduled for Wednesday.
