A WARRANT has been issued for a Greenock man facing two drugs possession charges after he failed to appear in court.
Brian Patrick Wilkie was due to stand trial at Greenock Sheriff Court, charged with having a quantity of the class A drug diamorphine in his possession on West Stewart Street on July 15, 2021.
Prosecutors allege that the 53-year-old was also in possession of etizolam, a class C substance, at the same time.
Wilkie, of Devon Road, was subject to a bail order at the time of the alleged incident.
His defence solicitor told a court hearing he could offer no explanation for his client's absence.
Sheriff Colin Pettigrew granted a warrant for Wilkie's arrest.
