A TERRIFIC troupe of young actors are ready to make the Beacon rock and roll by staging three performances of a popular musical.
An hour of comedy and classic 80s rock tunes await audiences that attend Greenock Players Youth’s production of Rock Of Ages this weekend.
The company consists of around 20 youngsters aged between eight and 18 who have been working hard since April to learn their lyrics, practice their lines and rehearse their dance moves.
Sarah McCallum, who is one of the leaders at Greenock Players Youth, told the Tele the cast couldn’t wait to perform for their audiences.
She said: “Rock of Ages is such a good show, it’s really feel good and there’s lots of good songs in it.
“The children have been working really hard on their singing and their dancing.
“It’s been amazing seeing it all come together over the last few weeks and we’re really excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on.
“There are still tickets available too on the Beacon website if anyone wants to come along.
“We have some incredibly talented kids, and we’ve welcomed quite a few members in.
“It’s great to see old members and new members coming together to do a first big show before we move on to doing our panto with the adult company.”
Greenock Players Youth’s performances of Rock of Ages will take place on Friday at 7:30pm and on Saturday at 2:30pm and 7pm.
