INVERCLYDE Council has unveiled the school term dates for the 2024/25 academic year. 

Teachers return to classrooms on Wednesday (August 14) but youngsters won't start their school year again until Friday. 

Schools will then close at 3pm on Thursday, September 26, for the September weekend, and reopen on Tuesday, October 1.

The October holiday begins at 3pm on Friday, October 11, and youngsters will start back on Tuesday, October 22. 

Schools will close at 2.30pm on Friday, December 20 for the Christmas break, reopening on Monday, January 6, 2025. 

The mid-term holiday starts at 3pm on Friday, February 14, and youngsters will return on Thursday, February 20.

Easter break begins at 2.30pm on Friday, April 4, and schools will reopen their doors on Tuesday, April 22. 

There will be two holiday weekends in May. 

Schools will close at 3pm on Friday, May 2, and pupils will be back on class on Wednesday, May 7. 

The second May weekend holiday starts at 3pm on Thursday, May 22, and schools will reopen on Tuesday, May 27. 

The 2024/25 session will finish at 1pm on Friday, June 27.
