A PORT Glasgow man is due to stand trial later this year charged with threatening to kill his former partner.
Gregory Doyle, 34, denies carrying out out multiple attacks on a woman in Inverclyde in incidents dating back to August 2013.
He also denies engaging in a course of behaviour which was abusive of her between April 2019 and October 2022.
During this time, he is said to have used derogatory language towards her and attempted to control her movements by manipulating childcare arrangements.
Prosecutors claim that Doyle seized the woman by her hair, pinned her down and compressed her neck, restricting her ability to breathe, to her injury.
On another occasion, he is alleged to have pulled the woman's arms apart, causing stitches from a recent medical surgery to open.
It is alleged that he contacted the woman’s father in an attempt to persuade him that she was ‘unstable’ and abusive towards him, causing undue concern.
Doyle is also charged with locking the woman within a porch at a property in Greenock and refusing to let her out, as well as with uttering threats of violence towards her and threatening to kill her.

He faces two further charges concerning alleged assaults on children at addresses in Greenock and Port Glasgow, in which he is alleged to have seized them by the hair, struck them on the head and dragged them by the neck and body.
Doyle appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on August 13 for a first diet hearing.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and a trial was fixed for November 18.
His bail order has been continued in the meantime.
