A MAN is to stand trial before a jury charged with attacking a woman in Greenock after being ordered to stay away from her.
John Traill, 30, allegedly punched his former partner on the head at an address in the town on January 4.
Prosecutors say he was subject to a non-harassment order at the time, forbidding him from approaching or contacting the woman.

Traill, currently remanded at HMP Greenock, is accused of entering the woman's property uninvited and refusing to leave when asked to.
He is also charged with shouting, swearing and making violent threats to the woman, as well as stealing a key while at the address.
Traill pleaded not guilty to four charges at Greenock Sheriff Court this week, with a trial being set for October 7.
He will be remanded in custody in the meantime.
