A FRESH trial date has been set for a woman accused of carrying out an assault to injury in Port Glasgow earlier this year.

Stephanie Bryan is said to have repeatedly struck a woman on the head and body at Stanton Square on May 27, before allegedly grabbing her by the hair and pulling her across the ground.

It is claimed that Bryan, 34, committed the alleged offence while she was the subject of a bail order.

Bryan also faces a charge of breaching that order, having been told not to enter Stanton Square.

Prosecutors allege that she was also found to be in possession of cocaine at Greenock police office on the same day.

Bryan, of Southfield Avenue, is further charged with shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and behaving aggressively at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

The accused pleaded not guilty through solicitor Gerry Keenan during a calling of the case at Greenock Sheriff Court last week.

The hearing was told that a forensic science report is outstanding and that the previously-assigned trial would have to be pushed back.

An adjourned diet has been scheduled for November 7.
