A PORT Glasgow man has admitted charges of spitting at police officers and trying to assault a paramedic at the town's railway station and at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Christopher Duffy pleaded guilty at Greenock Sheriff Court to shouting, swearing, spitting and uttering threats of violence towards officers at the railway station and within an ambulance travelling to the IRH last October 24.
Duffy, 26, also assaulted, obstructed or hindered a male paramedic who was responding to emergency circumstances and was attempting to assist him at the station.
Duffy attempted to strike the emergency worker on the head - but he had a not guilty plea accepted by prosecutors to a similar allegation involving an ambulance technician.
Sheriff Sean Lynch deferred sentencing for background reports to be completed.
Duffy, of Highholm Street, is due to return to court on September 10.
