A MAN has been arrested after a car crashed into the entrance at Tesco in Greenock on Friday evening.
Emergency crews attended the Dalrymple Street store at around 8.20pm in response to the incident.
The Tesco Extra store was closed while officers from Police Scotland worked alongside crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services.
The one occupant of the car was taken to hospital and later released.
A man, aged 47, has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
On Saturday morning, a spokesperson for Tesco said: “Our Greenock Extra is open and trading as normal this morning, after having to close early last night when a vehicle struck the store’s entrance lobby.
"We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.20pm on Friday, 6 September, 2024, police received a report of a one-vehicle road crash in Dalrymple Street, when a car crashed into a store.
