INVERCLYDE Council has confirmed the date for an upcoming by-election in Gourock.
The official Notice of By-Election for the Inverclyde West (Ward 5) has now been published, formally starting the process.
Voters will take to the polls on November 7 this year to elect a ward councillor for the area.
The by-election has been called after councillor Martin McCluskey resigned earlier this month following his election as the area's MP in July.
Those who wish to vote in the by-election must register by 11.59pm on October 22, while those who wish to vote via post must apply by 5pm on October 22.
People who would like to vote by proxy must apply to do so by 5pm on October 30.
Nominations for those who wish to stand for election at the by-election must be received no later than Monday, October 7 2024 by 4pm.
